Nathan Perea is rated "Excellent" by AVVO and received the Clients' Choice Award in 2013. Mr. Perea has invested himself in the legal profession for over 20 years, as a student, clerk, and practitioner. His primary focus is business and real estate transactions and litigation. His cases include breach of duties, fraudulent representations, insurance bad faith, elder abuse, sexual harassment, invasion of privacy, and catastrophic personal injury cases.
Mr. Perea was born in Maryland, in a small town along the Chesapeake Bay. His father, a native Californian, moved the family to Orange County, California, and then to Riverside County, in 1981.
Mr. Perea attended the University of California Santa Cruz, where he graduated with a degree in Politics and a minor in Sociology in 1997. As a student at UCSC Mr. Perea received a Chancellor's Undergraduate Internship, acting as a student liaison with the University's housing department.
In 2000, Mr. Perea entered law school at Lewis & Clark College, Northwestern School of Law in Portland, Oregon. He earned his Juris Doctorate in 2003, and had a curriculum emphasis in small business law. As a student, he received a scholarship from the Oregon State Bar Association and clerked for the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon. During his second year in law school, he clerked for a regional Trucking Industry Defense Firm.
Following graduation, Mr. Perea clerked for the Hon. Judge Michael McShane, currently a United States District Court Judge for the District of Oregon. Mr. Perea remained in Oregon for 2004.
In 2005 Mr. Perea returned to Southern California, and began his practice in a regional public entity defense firm, and a prominent business law firm. Thereafter, in 2010, Mr. Perea moved to a civil rights defense firm where he earned a partnership. Mr. Perea successfully defended social workers, law enforcement officers, medical professionals, public officials and public agencies against claims of Constitutional Rights violations including claims arising from the First, Fourth, Eighth and Fourteenth Amendments. He has defended claims asserted by parents suspected of abuse, children placed into protective custody and examined by healthcare officials, and inmates claiming unlawful confinement and illegal jail conditions.
In 2017 Mr. Perea opened Perea Law, APC.

Mr. Perea is admitted to practice in every state Court in California, as well as the federal district courts of the Southern, Central, Northern, and Eastern Districts of California. He is licensed with the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
Mr. Perea is a former board member of the Riverside Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a former volunteer with the Inland Empire Latino Lawyers Association in Riverside, and a former chairman of the board for the Unforgettables Foundation.
Mr. Perea has received numerous philanthropic awards including the foundations’ Heart Award awarded by the Unforgettable Foundation for commendable philanthropic activities in the Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. He has also received Certificates of Recognition for his philanthropic work from Richard D. Roth, Senator 31st District of California, The County of San Bernardino, and the California Legislature Assembly.
Mrs. Sharon Kawas is admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales. She received her law degree for the College of Law - Birmingham, in the United Kingdom, in May 2009. Prior to law school she attended Manchester Metropolitan University, in the United Kingdom, and graduated with a Bachelor of Laws LLB with Honors.
Mrs. Kawas rose to the level of Senior Litigation Lawyer with Crawley Borough Council where she handled environmental, housing, planning, debt recovery, contracts, and litigation matters. She also aided in public agency compliance with statutory and non-statutory functions, and advised public policy makers on ensuring their decisions were lawful.
Mrs. Kawas has over 21 years of experience in the legal field, spanning the gambit of a Court administrator in Wolverhampton, England, Litigation Paralegal for Wragge and CO LLP, to a Senior Litigation Lawyer for Crawley Borough Council (UK).
